Spirit Week

Spirit Week Information:

For each day of Spirit Week, please adhere to the dress down day guidelines on page 19  in the Student/Parent Handbook as outlined below. Students who do not adhere to the "Dress Down Day Guidelines" will be required to call home for a change of clothes or will be given a school uniform to change into. The dress down theme for each day of the week is also outlined below.

Dress Down Day Guidelines from Page 19 of Student/Parent Handbook:
The following are dress up day reminders to ensure that students have fun and are dressed appropriately for school for any dress down day. Costumes should not be worn. Face paint and/or makeup should not be worn. 

• Shorts  and skirts should be “fingertip length”. This means that if you hold your arm straight down against your leg and your skirt /shorts do not extend to your fingertips, then you must wear leggings underneath.
• Leggings can be worn with a  long shirt that reaches  to the fingertip of the extended arm. If the shirt is not long enough, shorts should be worn over leggings.
• Inappropriate clothing (ex: too tight, too short, too revealing,  offensive words or pictures) should not be worn.
• Students who disregard these reminders will be asked to call home to get appropriate clothing.  
• On dress down days the following dress code must be followed:
• Tops:  Shirts, blouses, and sweatshirts that are school appropriate.  Shirts or blouses that expose the midriff are not permitted.  Students may not wear spaghetti straps or                            sleeveless blouses. Shirts or blouses may not be low-cut.  Writing and/or logos must be school appropriate.  
• Bottoms:  Jeans - Plain, traditional cut and fit, long blue jeans. Low riding jeans that expose the midriff are not permitted. Jeans must not have tears, holes, slits, etc. 
  Shorts - Length of shorts should be no shorter than 2 inches above the knee (shorts that do not meet the required length must be worn with tights/yoga pants/leggings). Cut off shorts or cut off blue jean shorts are not permitted. PE shorts are allowed.
  Sweatpants - School and athletic sweatpants are allowed.
  Tights/Yoga Pants/Leggings- Must be worn with shorts if the student's shirt is not fingertip length.        
• Shoes and Socks: Any tennis shoe or school shoes. Any crew sock or ankle sock.

Monday, April 27 - Cougar Proud!

Students can wear our school colors of navy and green (or Cougar Spirit Shirt). Wear all the navy and green you can–shirts, shorts, pants, socks, shoes and accessories.

Tuesday, April 28 - Tourist Tuesday

Choose your vacation destination! Is it Disney World or Hawaii? Students can dress up as their favorite Disney character/Disney tourist or as if they are going on vacation to a Hawaiian beach!

Wednesday, April 29 - School Mass Day (regular school uniform)

Students will compete at recess for House points and enjoy a sno-ball!

Thursday, April 30 - Louisiana Lagniappe

Show off your Louisiana spirit and come dressed in your favorite Louisiana sports team's attire (Pro, College, or High School). Students may wear appropriate dress down day bottoms with sports jersey/shirt and tennis shoes of choice.

Friday, May 1 - Field Day for 2nd to 7th Grade (all students can dress down) and Final House Cup Competition! 

Wear your House shirt  – with PE shorts and tennis shoes of choice. 
1:30PM spirit rally with House Cup presentation for this year's champion!
